Day 1 - Phnom Penh
Welcome as you join us on a scenic journey through Cambodia. On arrival in Phnom Penh you will be transferred to the hotel. In the afternoon, visit some of the capital's most impressive sites, including the National Museum, the Silver Pagoda containing the Emerald Buddha statue, the Royal Palace and Phnom Penhs oldest shrine, Wat Phnom & Russian Market. Late afternoon you will embark on a one hour boat cruise along the Mekong River, enjoy the scenery of the green vegetation, the fishing village, pagoda and sunset view on the Royal Palace.
Day 2 - Phnom Penh
Breakfast at the hotel then this morning you will take a cyclo tour through the old colonial streets of Phnom Penh and is funny way to discover the city and is still a symbol of Asian countries. Cyclo Centre is a local NGO and has been supporting cyclo drivers to live healthier lifestyles since 1999. They provide English classes, accommodation and how to live without cigarettes. Enjoy a pleasant ride on a local cyclo to the Apsara Art Association which allows children from poor families and orphans to get access to education and helps them train in performing arts such as dance, music and theatre. You will observe how these youngsters follow the experience of their old teachers reproduce the traditional gestures and how they get accustomed to ancient forms of music. In the afternoon, visit the Tuol Genocide Museum and the notorious Khmer Rouge Killing Fields.

Day 3 - Phnom Penh - Kratie
Breakfast at the hotel then this morning you will drive to Kratie, a small town that has retained its colonial-era charm and renowned as the best place to spot the rare, fresh water Irrawaddy dolphins. Upon arrival you will check into your hotel, in the afternoon you will have a brief tour around the old colonial town of Kratie and the hilltop temple of Wat Phnom Sambok before going to see the dolphins at Kampi Pool.

Day 4 - Kratie - Kompong Cham - Kompong Thom
After breakfast this morning you will take an excursion to Wat Rokakandal Centre, an ancient pagoda that has been refurbished and converted to a local museum displaying Cambodian crafts. You will then head to Chlong Village with its French Colonial building and old Khmer houses before driving to Kompong Cham. You will also visit the unique 11th century Angkorian temple of Wat Nokor, a Mahayana Buddhist shrine built from sandstone and laterite. After a brief visit to Phnom Pos (Man Hill) and Phnom Srei (Woman Hill) each with its own hilltop temple then continue to Kompong Thom.

Day 5 - Kompong Thom - Sambor Prei Kuk - Siem Reap
Breakfast at the hotel then this morning you will drive 30km to the 7th century Sambor Prei Kuk temple. Along the way observe everyday life of rural Cambodia. Visit the ancient capitol of Chenla with its 100 temples dating from the pre-Angkor period. The complex at Ishanapura is composed of four groups of temples that are among the most ancient surviving examples of Khmer acrhitecture. After lunch you will drive to Siem Reap. On arrival you will check in where the rest of the day is free at leisure.

Day 6 - Siem Reap - Angkor Complex
Breafast at the hotel then you will begin your exploration of this ancient city by entering Angkor Thom via the South Gate. Continue with the ruins at Bayon, Baphoun, Phimeanakas, the Royal Palace, the Elephant Terraces and the Leper King Terrace. In the afternoon visit the magnificent Angkor Wat with its extraordinary architecture and bas-reliefs. End the day with a spectacular sunset viewed from the top of the mountain temple of Phnom Bakheng.

Day 7 - Siem Reap - Angkor Complex
After breakfast proceed to the graceful 11th century Temple of Shiva - Banteay Srei - and the Banteay Samre temple. On the way back, view the Bantey Kdei with its rarely seen sculpted female deities, the lake of Srah Srang and the impressive Ta Prohm Temple, which remains in the clutches of the enveloping jungle. Visit the Ta Keo, Chau Say Tevada and Thommanon temples before returning to the hotel.

Day 8 - Siem Reap - Battambang
Today you will drive to the provincial of Battambang - Cambodia's second largest city, which was founded in the 11th century. It is the former capital of Monton Kmer and lies in the heart of the Northwest of Cambodia. Until the war years, in which almost every infrastructure was destructed it was the leading rice producing province of the country. In the same morning you will visit Wat Ek Phnom (11th century - Suryavaman I). In the afternoon you will visit the Phnom Sampeau and killing field/cave before continuing to Phnom Banan, with its five sandstone towers on the top of a hill and enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding plains.

Day 9 - Battambang - Bamboo Train - NGO - Phnom Penh
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Bamboo Train station. The Bamboo train has been set up by the villagers to facilitate the transportation of goods and persons. The train is very basic. One platform on 4 wheels activated by a small motor and sitting on the platform, you will travel 8km to the next station through beautiful landscape and rice paddies. On arrival, visit the village and discover the daily life of the Cambodian countryside. Stop of a workshop specialised in wooden sculpture. The same morning, you will also drive to visit the local NGO (non governmentl organisation) "La Maison de Coco" and the city centre with its beautiful houses dating from the colonial time. In the afternoon you will drive to Phnom Penh where on arrival you will check in and the rest of the day is free at leisure.

Day 10 - Phnom Penh
After breakfast the rest of the day is free at leisure before your departure flight to the UK.
