Cambodia has endured more than it's fair share of conflict in the past, notably under the Khmer Rouge. However, this regime has long since vanished and is no longer a concern. Despite it's tragic past the people of Cambodia are pragmatic and optimistic in shaping the future of their country. Cambodia is located in South-east Asia. It is bordered by Laos and Thailand to the north, Vietnam to the east and the Gulf of Thailand and Thailand to the west.
Phnom Penh holidays - Phnom Penh, the country's capital city, is located in the south central region of Cambodia at the confluence of the Tonle Sap, Mekang, and Bassac rivers. Known for it's traditional Khmer and French influenced architecture, Cambodia's wealthiest city is a major economic, industrial, commercial, historical and cultural tourist centre. Popular tourist attractions within the city include The Royal Palace and the National Museum.
Sihanoukville and the southern coast holidays - Sihanoukville, in the south, is Cambodia's only beach resort where you will find tropical sandy beaches, many deserted and offshore islands which are ideal for scuba-diving. The area is also home to a number of stunning national parks including Bokor National Park with it's enigmatic abandoned hill station and Ream Maritime National Park which is renowned for it's expanse of mangrove swamp and diversity of animals and birds.
Siem Reap holidays - Siem Reap is a popular tourist town stretched along the Siem Reap River in the north-western region of Cambodia. Here you will find plenty of restaurants, pubs and shops within walking distance. There's a range of accommodation on offer, including several up-scale hotels. The town of Siem Reap serves as the gateway to the legendary ruins of the Angkor temple complex.
