Weather and climate in Florida
Florida’s weather is heavily influenced by its geographical position; sandwiched between the Gulf of Mexico to the West, the Atlantic Ocean to the East and the Caribbean to the South, resulting in over 300 days of sunshine annually. However, the hot temperatures are also combined with high humidity and the months between August and October often referred to as the “Hurricane Season"
All parts of Florida experience very hot summers with temperatures reaching in the high 80’s to low 90’s. Temperatures differ quite distinctly in the winter months the further south you travel.
It is true to say that climatically, Florida can be divided into three zones, each one offering a slightly diverse climate.
The Northern Zone has hot and sunny summers, possible frost in winters and rain could fall all year around.
The Central Zone has hot and less humid summers, and milder winters.
The Southern Zone has much more of a tropical climate with very hot and humid summers and warm, mild winters.
