Sanur Holidays

Sanur, unlike the hustle and bustle of Kuta, moves at its own unhurried pace with an emphasis on relaxation. Sanur has to be the destination if you are contemplating bringing your family. The city of Denpasar, Kuta and the International Airport are only a 15 - 20 minute taxi ride away. Referred locally as "Pantai Sindhu", or Sindhu Beach, Sanur's main highlight is its beach; recently the beach has undergone a major face lift with a paved sidewalk running from the north to the south, the walk along the way is shaded by trees. Sanur Beach is long and has white sand. It is also sheltered, which makes it suitable for swimming. However, sheltered beaches and being a fairly substantial tourist area does create a disadvantage in that the water quality is not as good as say Nusa Dua. Some people suggest you can snorkel off Sanur, but the reef died a long time ago and there are very few colorful fish to see. Sanur can be divided in to 4 areas. The north, Pantai, central and south. Given Sanur was the post independence choice of most Dutch ex-patriots, it also has a slightly more cultural feeling than other southern beach resort areas. Also, unlike Kuta / Legian, there are a large number of hotels that are actually on the beach (not separated from it by a road). Although there are a number of bars, it is not a young persons entertainment area like Kuta is. Sanur tends to attract more families.Things to see & doWatersports activities are offered either by the local beach boys or the hotels, making a huge variation of prices up and down the beach. There is really no such thing as a fixed price - most things can be bartered for on the day.
