Getting around

Taxis - There are two kinds of taxis in KL - metered and non-metered. Non-metered taxis usually charge a higher fare than metered taxis.

Buses - The buses of KL are comfortable, modern and air-conditioned. Service is comprehensive and it is a quick and inexpensive way to get around. The two main bus companies are Intrakota and Cityliner. Other bus companies include Len Seng Bus, Metrobus and Cityliner. It is "pay-as-you-board" and it is best if you have the exact change in hand.

Trains – A comprehensive rail transport system links the major parts of the city. The four different lines that operate are Putra LRT, Star LRT, Kuala Lumpur monorail and KTM commuter. All lines, except Star LRT passes through the KL sentral station. These rail transport systems are frequent, punctual and convenient as they are not affected by rush-hour traffic. Feeder bus services are available from train stations to designated surrounding areas.
