Getting Around in Singapore
 
Bus – With a comprehensive island-wide network, ’s bus service allow you to travel to all corners of the island and experience first-hand ’s vibrant street life. The bus services are run by 2 operators: SBS Transit and SMRT buses and they are generally available from 05.30 – midnight.

Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) – The MRT system is a quick and comfortable way of getting around . It comprises three main lines – North-South, East-West and North-East lines and it generally operates between 05.30-midnight.

EZ-Link Card – The EZ-link card is a convenient way of paying fares on both MRT and bus services. You can purchase an ez-link card with a travel value of SGD7.00 at MRT stations for SGD15.00. This is inclusive of a refundable travel deposit of SGD3.00 and a non-refundable card cost of SGD5.00. You may top-up the travel value or collect the refundable deposit at MRT stations. Using the ez-link card is easy. You do not need to know how much to pay. Simply tap the ez-link card on the entry card reader and wait for the green light to appear before proceeding. Similarly, when you get to the destination, tap the ez-link card at the exit card reader and the correct fare will be deducted from the ticket.

Taxis – If you prefer a personalised service, simply get a cab from any of the eight taxi operators that serve areas throughout . You can get a taxi at taxi stands, flag one along the street, or book one by phone.
