Day 1 - Kuching

On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel, on arrival you will check-in and the rest of the day is free at leisure.

Day 2 - Kuching - Bako National Park - Kuching

Breakfast is served at hotel, today you will depart for Bako National Park.  This small peninsula is one and half hours drive from Kuching by car and longboat, it is home to seven distinct rainforest ecosystems, giving it a remarkable diversity of animal and plant life.  Bako's most famous residents are the bizarre proboscis monkeys and it is also home to silvered langurs (leaf monkeys), long-tailed macaque monkeys, wild boar, flying squirrels and monitor lizards as well as hundreds of different bird species.  Fascinating plant life includes mangroves, strangling figs, carnivorous pitcher plants and symbiotic ant plants.  Unique geological features mark the coastline, including the famous Sea Stack, whilst well-marked trails lead to rugged jungle-covered hilltops and secluded beaches.  Packed lunch is included.

Day 3 - Kuching - Batang Ai

Breakfast is served at hotel, check out from the hotel and depart by air-conditioned van/coach to Batang Ai Longhouse Resort managed by Hilton, 166 miles from Kuching city, passing through scenic countryside consisting of quaint little towns, villages, paddy fields, pepper and oil palm plantations interspersed with secondary and virgin jungle as the road starts to wind and undulate as you go deeper into the interior.  Stop for lunch at Lachau, a small town on the way to the resort.

Arrive at the Hydro Lake at Lubok Antu, you will board the shuttle ferry for the resort situated on the southern bank.  Check-in and the rest of the day is free at leisure.

Day 4 - Batang Ai - Longhouse - Batang Ai

Breakfast is served at hotel, today you will depart for the Mengkak Longhouse or similar by motorised native longboat.  The journey will take you across the lake into the Engkari River, one of the many tributaries flowing into the lake.  The journey will take approximately 35 to 40 minutes before reaching Mengkak Longhouse nestled on a hill beside the river.  Enjoy a short cultural performance by the inhabitant of the longhouse followed later on by a blow pipe demonstration.  Lunch will be provided either at the Longhouse or by the riverbank and if weather permits you will go for a short jungle walk around the vicinity of the longhouse.  Later on in the afternoon you will return back to the resort where the rest of the day is free at leisure.

Day 5 - Batang Ai - Kuching - Miri

Breakfast is served at the resort followed by a short nature walk with the resorts resident naturalist.  Check out from the resort as you depart to Kuching.  Lunch is served en-route.  Then you will continue your journey to Kuching airport for your flight to Miri.  Upon arrival into Miri you will be met and transferred to Borneo Rainforest Tropical Resort.

Day 6 - Miri - Niah Caves - Miri

Breakfast is served at the resort, after breakfast you will depart for a full day to Niah Caves.  Cross Niah river and take the 3km plankwalk to Niah Cave.  Explore the cave and return to Park HQ.  Niah cave was the home of Niah Man, 40,000 years ago.  Significant rock paintings embellish the walls of burial cave "Kain Hitam", where boat shaped coffins rested on the drycave ground, liberally sprinkled with grave gifts such as ancient ceramics and glass beads.  Lunch will be served after you finish the cave exploration.

Day 7 - Miri - Mulu

Breakfast is served at the resort, check out and transfer to the airport for your onward flight to Mulu.  On arrival at Mulu you will be met and transferred to the hotel.  You will then meet at around 1300 and depart for Mulu Park HQ and take the 3km plankwalk to explore Lang's and Deer caves.  Watch the bats flight when weather permits and then return to the resort.

Day 8 - Mulu

Breakfast is served at the resort, after breakfast you will take an open longboat to explore Wind and Clearwater caves with a stop at Penan Village.  Swim and lunch at Clearwater Resurgence and then transfer to your hotel.

Day 9 - Mulu - Kota Kinabalu

Breakfast is served at the resort and guests are free at leisure until you are transferred to Mulu Airport for your flight to Kota Kinabalu.  Upon arrival into Kota Kinabalu transfer to the hotel where the rest of the day is free at leisure.

Day 10 - Kota Kinabalu - Kinabalu Park - Poring Hot Spring - Sabah Tea Garden

After breakfast at the hotel you will depart to Kinabalu Park & Poring hot spring tour.  This tour brings you across mountainous Crocker Range with panoramic view of the countryside and soaring hills.  Whilst en-route to Kinabalu Park, you can catch the magnificent sight of Mount Kinabalu, South East Asia's highest peak.  The park is a World Heritage Site with incredible mega bio-diversity of flora and fauna, a heaven for nature enthusiasts.  On arrival, enjoy a guided nature trek along one of the many trails in the park before proceeding to Poring Hot Springs which offers visitors the opportunity for an invigorating dip into its hot sulphur springs.  For a closer look at nature, take the 41 metre high canopy walk which offers a spectacular view of the Borneo Rainforest flora and fauna.  Lunch is included

Afternoon, continue the journey to Sabah Tea garden, check into the longhouse room and you may participate in the blowpipe and batik painting session at Sapaon Recreational area or relax before dinner at Tea House.

Day 11 - Sabah Tea Garden - KG Luntai Baru (Fish Massaging) - Sandakan

At 0600hrs you will depart for a morning walk and enjoy beautiful sunrise view of Mount Kinabalu and undulating tea plantation covered with cool mist.  At 0730hrs you will proceed for Malaysian breakfast at Tea House and Tea Factory educational tour.  Check-out after the tour, drop by the souvernir shop before departing for Kg.Lunati Baru for fish massaging and learn about the tagal fish conservation.  Then, collect your packed lunch and depart from Sabah Tea Garden / Kg.Lunati Baru to Sandakan.  The journey takes about 3-4 hrs to reach Sandakan.  Upon arrival at Sandakan you will check-in and the rest of the day is free at leisure.

Day 12 - Sandakan - Sepilok Orang Utan Centre - Sukau

Breakfast is served at the resort, after breakfast you will check out from the hotel and you will be transferred to the Sepilok Orang Utan rehabilitation centre situated in the Kabili - Sepilok Forest Reserve.  Learn about the rehabilitation of young or strayed Orang Utans before taking a boardwalk through lowland rainforest to viewing feeding platform.  Witness the feeding of orphaned orang utans at 1000hrs continue with about two and half hours drive through rustic countryside studded with villages until you each Sukau, Kinabantangan River, then take a short boat transfer to Bilit Rainforest Lodge.  Time for orientation and check-in.  Late afternoon, river cruise in search of proboscis monkey and other wildlife along the river bank.  Dinner is served at the lodge.

Day 13 - Sukau - Ox-Bow Lake

Breakfast is served at the resort, after breakfast you will take a jungle walk along the trail to the Ox-bow lake for bird watching.  After lunch rest and relax.  Take another river cruise up in the late afternoon to see more wildlife along the Sukau Kinabatangan river bank.

Day 14 - Sukau - Gomantong Cave - Sandakan

Breakfast is served at the resort, after breakfast you will depart from Sukau Kampung Bilit and proceed to visit the Gomantong Cave located within the Gomantong forest reserve.  Take about 15 minutes boardwalk to the opening of Semut Hitam cavern and explore the cave system on boardwalk.  Return to Sandakan for lunch.  If time permits visit the water village, central market and buddhist temple or transfer to Sandakan Airport for your flight to the UK.
