Weather and Climate

Vietnam has a tropical monsoon climate with wet and dry seasons.
The seasons vary from north to south and with differing elevations.
Generally the dry season lasts from November to April.
The coolest and driest times to visit Vietnam are as follows:
North (Hanoi, Halong Bay, Sapa) October to January,
Central Highlands (Hoi An, Hue, Nha Trang) February to April
South (Ho Chi Minh City, Phan Thiet) late December to March
A trip to Vietnam at any time of year is popular however, since the country has a fascinating range of things to see and do aside from simply relaxing on beautiful beaches. In addition, the weather can vary markedly throughout the country and to some degree it is possible to work around it.
