Khao Sok National Park

Khao Sok National Park, located in southern Thailand's Surat Thani Province, is one of the country’s most pristine natural reserves, renowned for its stunning landscapes and biodiversity. The park covers an area of 739 sq kms, making it one of the largest protected areas in the region. It is part of the oldest evergreen rainforest in the world, dating back over 160 million years.

The park is best known for its dramatic limestone karst formations, lush jungles, and the serene Cheow Lan Lake, a man-made reservoir with emerald green waters surrounded by towering cliffs. The lake is a prime attraction, where visitors can explore by boat or kayak and stay in floating bungalows.

Khao Sok is home to an incredible array of wildlife, including elephants, gibbons, hornbills, and even the elusive Malayan sun bear. Plant life is equally diverse, with the rare Rafflesia flower, known for its massive size and pungent smell, being a highlight.

The park offers a range of outdoor activities such as hiking, birdwatching, jungle trekking, and night safaris. With its rich biodiversity and breathtaking scenery, Khao Sok National Park is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
