The Indian Ocean conjures up images of palm trees and white sandy beaches shelving into clear turquoise waters. It is an exotic, enticing ocean littered with coral and sand islands - and we can say from experience that it doesn't disappoint.
This part of the world is simply paradise. The Indian Ocean is the third largest of the worlds oceans and is home to luxurious destinations such as the Maldives and Mauritius, but also carries heaps of culture in destinations such as Sri Lanka.
The Maldives, Mauritius and the Seychelles are well known honeymoon destinations. The Maldives is a desert-island dream where tiny islands are scattered like jewels across the ocean, each surrounded by a turquoise lagoon. It also holds some of the world’s best diving hotspots. The natural beauty of the volcanic island of Mauritius is also breath-taking. Mauritius is resplendent with stunning scenery including vast central sugar cane plantations, sub-tropical forests, rivers, streams and beautiful waterfalls. Similarly, the Seychelles shares similar characteristics.
Sri Lanka is also considered another magnificent tropical paradise but stands out with its enormous expanse of culture. From famous UNESCO heritage sites to wildlife National parks there is no wonder why many couples and families flock here.
