09:00 hours
Melaka was conferred the status of UNESCO World Heritage Site on 7 July 2008.  A full day tour of Melaka is a journey through more than 600 years of history.  The city was formerly ruled by the Portuguese, Dutch and lastly the British.

Begin this heritage discovery at St. Peter’s Church (1710), the oldest Christian church still in use in Malaysia today. Next, drive past the largest 17th century Chinese cemetery outside of China, located at Bukit China. Then, en route, we stop to admire two iconic destinations, the landmark gateway “Porta de Santiago” and the ruins of St. Paul’s Church. St Paul’s Church lies buried between the 17th-century Dutch tombstones. Porta de Santiago was a fortress built by the Portuguese in 1511 and is also known as “A Famosa. The final stop is to explore Stadhuys (1641 –1660), also known as the “Red Square” due to the salmon pink colour of the building. It was once a Dutch Administration centre which today houses the Malacca Museum and some government offices.

We slow down to enjoy a 40-minute boat ride on the Malacca River. This journey back through time, passes heritage buildings situated along the river, traditional fishing villages, the Kampung Sentosa living museum house and the Melaka Sultanate Watermill.  After the cruise, continue on a walking tour to the Cheng Hoon Teng ancient Chinese Temple. Next, visit The Baba Nyonya Heritage Museum, a must-see World UNESCO Site. The house is a combination of three terrace lots that were acquired by the Chan family in 1861. Four generations lived in the house before it was opened as a museum in March 1985. The name of the museum is derived from the term Baba, an honorific manner of addressing a Straits-born gentleman and Nyonya which addresses a Straits-born lady and later, continue visit to Christ Church before stopping for lunch at a local restaurant and savour the praised local ‘Baba-nonya’ food.

After lunch, wander along Malacca’s antique row known as Jonker Street. You will find all sorts of antiques on display at a reasonable price along with art galleries, souvenir shops, dried food shops, and more.

At the end of the tour return back to the hotel.
