From the hills of San Francisco to the canyons of Utah and Arizona, and on to the glamour of Los Angeles, this tour combines natural wonders, Route 66 nostalgia and classic American cities.
Day 1: Arrival in San Francisco
Welcome to San Francisco, the legendary “City by the Bay.” Once a small settlement, the California Gold Rush of 1849 transformed it into one of America’s most vibrant and cosmopolitan cities. With its iconic skyline, historic neighbourhoods and sweeping bay views, San Francisco remains one of the most popular destinations in the United States.

Day 2: San Francisco City Tour
Discover why so many people leave their hearts in San Francisco. Enjoy a half-day guided city tour introducing you to the city’s most famous sights. Experience the energy of Union Square, hear the clang of the iconic cable cars and watch ships sail across the bay.
The afternoon is free to explore at your own pace – cruise the bay, shop, ride the cable cars or simply stroll through the city’s distinctive neighbourhoods. Your Tour Director will be available to assist with planning optional activities.
Overnight: San Francisco
Day 3: San Francisco – Yosemite National Park – Fresno
Depart San Francisco and travel through California’s fertile Central Valley, an agricultural powerhouse producing almonds, oranges, grapes and hundreds of other crops.
Arrive at Yosemite National Park, home to towering granite formations such as El Capitan and Half Dome, spectacular waterfalls and abundant wildlife. Explore the park by motorcoach and enjoy time on the valley floor to fully appreciate the breathtaking scenery.
Overnight: Fresno
Day 4: Fresno – Mojave Desert – Las Vegas
An early departure takes you south through the Central Valley, crossing mountain ranges and entering the rugged Mojave Desert. As you cross into Nevada, casinos appear at the state line, signalling your arrival in the world-famous entertainment capital – Las Vegas.
Once a small farming settlement, Las Vegas rose to prominence during the silver rush and is today renowned for its dazzling lights, casinos and world-class shows.
Overnight: Las Vegas
Day 5: Las Vegas (Optional Death Valley Excursion)
Today is at leisure to enjoy Las Vegas your way. Relax by the pool, explore shopping outlets, take in the city’s iconic attractions or join an optional excursion such as a visit to Death Valley. Your Tour Director will be happy to provide recommendations.
Overnight: Las Vegas
Day 6: Las Vegas – Cedar City – Bryce Canyon
Travel north through the Mojave Desert, crossing briefly into Arizona before entering Utah. Journey through the dramatic Virgin River Gorge as the landscape transforms from desert plains to high-altitude plateaus.
Explore the Colorado Plateau, home to several national parks, and arrive at Bryce Canyon. Take in the incredible views from Bryce and Inspiration Points, where thousands of unique hoodoos – towering rock pillars – fill the canyon.
Overnight: Bryce Canyon area
Day 7: Bryce Canyon – Grand Canyon – Williams
Depart Bryce Canyon and travel through Kanab, once a favourite filming location for classic Western movies, earning it the nickname “Little Hollywood.”
Continue through Page, Arizona, entering the Navajo Nation, where ancient traditions remain very much alive. Pass vast desert landscapes, traditional Hogan homes and the striking colours of the Painted Desert.
Arrive at the Grand Canyon National Park, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Optional helicopter flights offer a breathtaking aerial perspective.
Overnight: Williams (Historic Route 66)
Day 8: Williams – Route 66 – Seligman – Kingman – Laughlin
Explore historic Williams before travelling along legendary Route 66. Stop in Seligman, one of the best-preserved Route 66 towns, ideal for souvenir shopping and soaking up 1950s Americana.
Continue to Kingman before crossing the Colorado River back into Nevada and arriving in Laughlin. Founded by entrepreneur Don Laughlin, the town sits along the river and is known for its relaxed casino atmosphere.
Overnight: Laughlin
Day 9: Laughlin – Palm Springs – Los Angeles
Return to California and travel to Palm Springs, a desert oasis long favoured by Hollywood celebrities seeking winter sunshine. Admire its distinctive Spanish Revival and Mid-Century Modern architecture and artistic heritage.
Continue to Los Angeles, where an orientation tour introduces downtown LA, Hollywood and parts of Beverly Hills before arriving at your hotel.
Overnight: Los Angeles
Day 10: Departure from Los Angeles
Your adventure comes to an end today. Depart Los Angeles for your journey home, taking with you unforgettable memories of the American West.
