Day 1 - Arrival in Montecarlo
Arrive at Pisa Airport, collect your rental car, and drive to Montecarlo, a charming town perched on a stand-alone hill in the Lucca plain. Highlights include the Fortress of Montecarlo (completed in 1555), the Church of S. Andrea from the 1700s, the Chapel of St. Anna, and the early 18th-century Rassicurati Theatre. Overnight in Montecarlo.
Day 2 - Greve in Chianti & Siena
Drive to a castle in Greve in Chianti, dating back to the 1400s. Explore its high crenellated tower and preserved manor houses. Enjoy a Chianti Classico wine tasting in the castle’s cellar, next to vineyards, while admiring panoramic views of the Greve valley.
Later, travel to Siena, where medieval charm awaits. Walk through its winding streets, marvel at high brick palaces, and visit historic landmarks like Palazzo Pubblico and Torre del Mangia, offering stunning views of Piazza del Campo. Overnight in Siena.
Day 3 - Monteriggioni & San Gimignano
Begin your day with a visit to Monteriggioni, one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Italy, surrounded by a nearly 600-metre-long wall. Explore its quaint houses and narrow streets, evoking a bygone era.
Continue to San Gimignano, a UNESCO World Heritage site famed for its medieval architecture, which has remained unchanged since the 14th century. End the day with a Vernaccia wine tasting at a traditional farm. Overnight in Siena.
Day 4 - Montalcino & Montepulciano
After breakfast, head to Montalcino, renowned worldwide for its exceptional Brunello wine. The town, with Etruscan roots, offers a rich history and stunning views. Next, visit Montepulciano, situated on a high tufa plateau, famous for its Vino Nobile di Montepulciano wine. Overnight in Siena.
Day 5 - Departure from Siena
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before checking out. Spend the morning exploring more of Siena before departing for Pisa Airport.
