Itinerary
Day 1: UK - Catania area
Arrive in the Catania area, where you'll be transferred to your hotel. Toast to your holiday ahead with a welcome cocktail, before dinner and an overnight stay in Catania.
Day 2: Syracuse - Noto
Head to Syracuse, which is home to the most beautiful Greek colony on the island. Explore Ortigia, the baroque centre of Syracuse, before laying eyes upon the Temple of Minerva, the Fountain of Arethusa, the Greek Theatre, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Latomie and the Ear of Dionysus. In the afternoon, set off to Noto, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its Baroque architecture.
Day 3: Giarre - Catania - Palermo
After breakfast, depart for Giarre to visit the Radicepura Botanical Park, home to a wide variety of plants and the Radicepura Foundation. Continue on to Catania, where you'll enjoy a traditional snack of arancino, gelato, or granita with brioche (depending on the season), followed by a stroll through the historic centre. In the afternoon, depart toward the western region, with accommodations arranged in the Palermo area or nearby.
Day 4: Monreale - Palermo - Cefalu
After breakfast, depart for Monreale to visit the stunning Norman Cathedral and the adjacent Benedictine Cloister. Return to Palermo for a walking tour of the historic centre, including highlights such as Palermo Cathedral, Quattro Canti, and Piazza Pretoria, known for its impressive 'Fountain of Shame'. Explore one of the city's historic residences, once home to local nobility and inspiration for numerous films. In the afternoon, depart for the coastal town of Cefalu, where you’ll have free time to explore before returning to the hotel for dinner.
Day 5: Erice - Marsala - Selinunte - Agrigento
Start the day with breakfast at the hotel, then depart for Erice* for a guided tour and almond pastry tasting. Continue on to Marsala for a visit to a cooperative winery with a wine tasting. In the afternoon, explore the Eastern Hill of Selinunte, home to fascinating ancient ruins. Proceed to Agrigento or the surrounding area for hotel check-in and dinner. Afterwards, enjoy a scenic drive to view the illuminated Valley of the Temples.
*If the road is closed, which will prevent you from reaching Erice, this destination will be replaced with a visit to Trapani.

Day 6: Valley of the Temples - Piazza Armerina
After breakfast at the hotel, begin the day with a visit to the stunning Valley of the Temples, renowned for its remarkably preserved ancient structures. Continue to Piazza Armerina for an 'Ancient Rome' themed lunch. Afterwards, explore the Roman Villa del Casale, celebrated for its intricate mosaics. Later, travel to the eastern part of the island for accommodation in the Catania area, Giardini Naxos, or nearby.
Day 7: Mount Etna - Taormina
Take an excursion to Mount Etna (weather permitting) - the highest active volcano in Europe. Stop at the charming village of Zafferana Etnea, the 'City of Honey', where you'll get to savour a taste of the honey itself, before returning for lunch. Depart for Taormina in the afternoon, known as the 'Pearl of the Ionian Sea'. Explore the city at your own pace, browsing the boutique lace, jewellery and ceramic shops that line the narrow streets. Visit the nearby Greek-Roman theatre before returning to your hotel to spend the night.
Day 8: Catania - UK
Transfer to the airport to catch your flight back to the UK.
