Set sail from Aberdeen on an extraordinary voyage through the rugged beauty of the North Atlantic. Begin with the charming port of Lerwick in the Shetland Islands, where coastal cliffs and Viking heritage await. Continue to the Faroe Islands, an archipelago of dramatic landscapes and serene villages nestled in lush, green fjords. Then, venture across open waters to Iceland, where volcanic landscapes, hot springs, and breath taking waterfalls lead you to the vibrant city of Reykjavík. This journey offers an unforgettable blend of remote beauty, cultural discovery, and stunning natural wonders at every stop.

Seaventure is the FIRST passenger vessel built for polar exploration, with the highest ice-class rating of 1A SUPER. It has safely completed over 300 polar voyages in both the Arctic and Antarctic. In 2022, Seaventure underwent a major upgrade, enhancing facilities while preserving the intimate small-ship experience that caters to true polar explorers.

Well-equipped onboard facilities, including restaurants, a library, a bar, a sauna, a gym, and an expedition lounge, offer a variety of leisure activities. The vessel also features an exceptionally high passenger-to-crew ratio, close to 1:1, ensuring personalized and attentive service.

Day 1 - Aberdeen, Scotland

On arrival in Aberdeen, you will make your way to the port and ready for embarkation.

You will be greeted by our passionate crew and Expedition staff, attend important safety briefings before enjoying the Captain’s welcome dinner thereafter.

Day 2 -  Lerwick, Shetland Islands

Lerwick, the capital of the Shetland Islands, lies at the northernmost tip of Scotland. Surrounded by dramatic cliffs, bays, and grasslands, it is home to abundant seabirds and marine life. The Vikings settled here from the 9th century, and their influence still remains, with numerous historical sites bearing witness to their impact.

You are free to choose any of the two excursions:

1. Southern Shetland Islands Exploration: you will head south to visit Mousa Broch, one of the best-preserved circular fortresses. Then a tour in Sumburgh Head Lighthouse and RSPB Reserve will present the opportunities to see thousands of seabirds including puffins and guillemots. You may spot dolphins and porpoises.

2. Northwest Shetland Islands Scenic Tour: you will head northwest through the Scandinavian-style Voe community and cross the Mavis Grind, a narrow isthmus where the Atlantic meets the North Sea in breath taking harmony. You will be awed by the deep sea, carved caves, stacks, arches and geological wonders.

Day 3 ~ 5 - Suðuroy & Vágar & Cruising, Faroe Islands

The Faroe Islands are located in the North Atlantic between Norway and Iceland. Comprising 18 main volcanic islands, the archipelago‘s stunning landscapes have been shaped by volcanic and glacial forces over millennia. In the summertime, the dynamic interplay of midnight sun and rapidly changing weather conditions adds to the islands’ layered, dramatic beauty. During three-day voyage, you will delve into the unique charm of the Faroe Islands, exploring everything from rugged mountains to wild coastlines, and experiencing its raw, timeless allure.

Day 3 - Suðuroy, Faroe Islands

Suðuroy is the southernmost island of the Faroe Islands, known for its unspoiled natural beauty. You will stroll along the rugged coastline, walk around the charming village of Hvalba, admire the majestic Bøsdalafossur waterfall, and experience the thrilling single-plank bridge

Day 4 - Vágar, Faroe Islands

After docking in Tórshavn, embark on a journey to Vágar Island, a true microcosm of the Faroe Islands, showcasing some of the archipelago’s most iconic landscapes. Marvel at the “lake in the sky,” Leitisvatn, the dramatic sea arch of Drangarnir, and the stunning Múlafossur waterfall. Observe puffins nesting along the cliffs and explore the ancient village of Bøur, renowned for its charming grass-roofed houses.

Day 5 - Faroe Islands

Cruising along the coastline, you are getting close to the cliffs, sea stacks, and sea arches that are otherwise inaccessible by foot. Keep an eye out for abundant marine life, including seabirds, dolphins, and whales. After lunch, you will set course for Iceland, continuing our exploration of the stunning North Atlantic landscapes.

Day 6 - Seydisfjordur, Iceland

we will arrive at the charming town of Seyðisfjörður in eastern Iceland, one of the filming locations for The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. The town's famous rainbow street leads to the beautiful Blue Church, radiating an artistic atmosphere. As one of Iceland's cultural hubs, Seyðisfjörður is filled with street art and works by local artists. The surrounding nature reserve is also known for its abundant wildlife. With over 47 species of birds and 150 types of plants, the area is home to reindeer, seals, and dolphins. We will embark on a Zodiac excursion, with the chance for some unexpected encounters with these fascinating creatures.

Day 7 - Djupivogur, Iceland

In the morning, you’ll disembark and take a bus to Vatnajökull National Park, home to Europe's largest glacier, covering about 8% of Iceland’s total area. The grandeur of the glacier makes it a must-see destination on any Icelandic trip.

Along the way, you’ll enjoy the unique geological landscapes of southeast Iceland before stopping at Heinabergsjökull. The glacier‘s end connects to Heinaberg Lake, where icebergs and blue-and-white ice chunks drift on the water, creating a dreamlike icy world. We’ll immerse ourselves in this magnificent natural wonder at a viewpoint near the glacier.

Next, you’ll visit the Viking Village at the base of Mount Vestrahorn, a unique spot in south eastern Iceland that perfectly recreates the architecture and lifestyle of the Viking era. From here, the black sand beach, rolling waves, grassy mounds, and towering mountains create a stunning landscape, making it a paradise for photography enthusiasts.

Day 8 - Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland

The Vestmannaeyjar Islands are a group of volcanic islands off the southern coast of Iceland, known for their dramatic landscapes and abundant wildlife. Hike up Eldfell Volcano, an active crater that erupted in 1973, and visit the Eldheimar Volcano Museum to learn about the island’s volcanic history. The islands are also a sanctuary for puffins, attracting birdwatchers from all over during the summer months.

You are free to choose any of the two excursions:

1. Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, Vestmannaeyjar

In the morning, depart by bus to Reynisfjara, one of Iceland’s most iconic destinations. Stroll along the black sand beach formed by volcanic lava and enjoy views of the surrounding volcanoes and cliffs. In the afternoon, explore the Vestmannaeyjar Islands, either by hiking the slopes of Eldfell Volcano or visiting the Eldheimar Volcano Museum to discover the history of the 1973 eruption.

2. Vestmannaeyjar

Spend the day exploring the stunning landscapes and rich history of the Vestmannaeyjar Islands. The islands' rugged cliffs and vast lava plains offer dramatic vistas. Hike to the top of a mountain for panoramic views of the entire archipelago, and enjoy breath taking sea views and traces of ancient lava flows. In summer, the islands are blanketed with lush grass and colourful lupine flowers. At the Eldheimar Volcano Museum, visit the "City Under the Volcano," a preserved neighbourhood buried by volcanic ash, giving visitors a unique glimpse into the eruption's impact.

Day 9 - Reykjavik, Iceland

You will disembark in Reykjavik, Iceland’s bustling capital, at the end of your journey.
