Day 1–2: Halifax
Day 1: Arrive in Halifax and transfer independently to your downtown hotel. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure, perhaps dining at one of the many waterfront restaurants to savour the local culinary delights.
Day 2: Enjoy a full day exploring Halifax's rich maritime heritage. Visit the 18th-century Citadel, the beautifully restored Historic Properties, and the charming Public Gardens. Art lovers may wish to explore local galleries, or you might opt for a scenic harbour cruise offering panoramic views of the city.

Day 3: VIA Rail/The Ocean – Halifax to Quebec City
After a short walk from your hotel, board VIA Rail’s The Ocean for an overnight journey to Quebec City via Sainte-Foy. Travel through Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, enjoying lunch and a scenic dinner onboard as the landscape transitions from rolling hills to river valleys. Overnight in a comfortable cabin for two, complete with private facilities.

Day 4–5: Quebec City
Day 4: Arrive in Quebec City and transfer independently to your hotel. Begin exploring this UNESCO World Heritage site with its cobblestone streets, fortified walls, and French colonial architecture. Highlights include the Latin Quarter, Place Royale, the Citadel, and the Plains of Abraham.
Day 5: Continue your discovery of Quebec City, perhaps with a food tour, museum visit, or a stroll through Quartier Petit Champlain. The city’s blend of old-world charm and modern culture creates a truly unique experience.

Day 6: Quebec City to Montreal
Depart Quebec City aboard VIA Rail’s Corridor service to Montreal, tracing the shoreline of the St. Lawrence River. After arriving in Montreal and checking into your hotel, take time to explore. Wander along bustling St. Catherine Street, known for its shops and cafes, and enjoy a delicious dinner in one of the city’s famed restaurants.

Day 7: Montreal
Spend the day exploring Montreal’s blend of historic charm and urban sophistication. Join a guided walking tour of Old Montreal, with stops at landmarks such as the exterior of Notre-Dame Basilica, Place d’Armes, and McGill Street. Consider a river cruise, visit Mount Royal for panoramic views, or cycle the city’s extensive network of bike paths.

Day 8: Departure from Montreal
Check out of your hotel and transfer independently to the airport for your onward flight, marking the end of your Eastern Canada rail adventure.
