Itinerary - 12 August 2025

Day 1 Copenhagen, Denmark
Arrive in Copenhagen, you will be warmly greeted by a 66° Expeditions representative, who will guide you to your designated hotel.

Day 2 Longyearbyen, Svalbard
Today, you'll take a charter flight from Copenhagen, to Longyearbyen, perched at 78°N – one of the most northerly inhabited towns on Earth. Situated on Spitsbergen, the main island of the Svalbard archipelago, Longyearbyen is a crucial base for researching the Arctic environment.

Before boarding the ship, you might have the chance to explore the unique charm of this town. Known as the "city of the midnight sun", through its streets, you might stumble upon moose and wild ducks, admire the painted houses, and gaze at the towering mountains and glaciers. The Svalbard Museum and the Polar Exploration Museum provide captivating glimpses into the Arctic's rich history and culture, and a visit to the renowned "Global Seed Vault" is a must.

After the tour, you will be transferred directly to the pier to embark on our vessel in the late afternoon. Settle into your cabin before attending important safety briefings and experience the thrill of departure when we set sail. The Captain’s welcome dinner will follow.

Day 3 Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard
Known as the gateway to the Arctic, this international research town draws scientists globally. We'll tour the town, visit its museum, and check out the world's northernmost post office.

Day 4 Ice Edge, Svalbard
You will sail north to explore this magical island. The western Spitsbergen will offer you ample opportunities to get immersive in the magnificent mountain ranges, gigantic glaciers, deep fjords and unique flora and fauna.

Our experienced Expedition Team will leverage their expertise to tailor our day-to-day itinerary, choose the best options, take an in-depth tour with possibility to encounter endemic wildlife. Most memorable will be the chance to see polar bears on pack ice. A zodiac cruising will also take you to explore ashore and reward you with the panoramic view of the crystal-clear world full of peace and tranquillity.

Day 5 At Sea
Today we will sail towards Jan Mayen Island. The day at sea offers a perfect blend of education, relaxation and anticipation. You can relax in our lounge and chat with other adventurers, attend fascinating lectures presented by industry experts covering wildlife, history, geology, marine biology, or watch for wildlife from our observation deck. We have professional photographers onboard who can offer guidance and skills to take outstanding pictures. You can amaze your family and friends on social medias.

Day 6 Jan Mayen Island
This is an isolated volcanic island set in the North Atlantic Ocean, halfway between Iceland and Spitsbergen. The rough, and inhospitable landscape is a perfect demonstration of the true nature.

The vegetation is barely to be seen, with only a few mosses, grasses and a scattering of flowering plants. Yet for all its ruggedness and unpredictable climate, there is a wild beauty to the island. On the beaches there are the old bleached bones of whales and the remains of the whaling stations. The rocky cliffs are home to different wildlife.

The most unique part of the island is the black sand, weathered from volcanic basalt and the colours. You can take a zodiac cruising and get a touch of the sand.

Day 7 At Sea
Today is another day at sea and we are sailing ahead to Greenland. Please take your time to fully relax and enjoy life onboard. It offers a perfect break between the busy days of adventure.

Day 8 - Day 12  East Greenland
Greenland's east coast boasts some of the Arctic's most spectacular landscapes, featuring deep fjords, narrow straits, and soaring 2,000-metre (6,562-foot) peaks. Colossal icebergs, carved by glaciers, drift through the fjords, offering breath taking views.

The tundra is habitat to Arctic wildlife like musk-oxen, hares, and reindeer. Discover Thule's archaeological ruins and Inuit hunters' cabins to immerse yourself in the region's rich history and culture.

We aim to explore:Kaiser Franz Josef Fjord: Be amazed by towering icebergs that stretch from the inland ice sheet to the sea, breaking off into colossal floats. Our team will take you up close in a Zodiac, navigating through the drifting ice, where you can even hold a chunk and experience its wonder.

Kong Oscar Fjord:  showcases stunning mountains with vivid geological strata in shades of red, orange, yellow, and green. The fjord's dramatic peaks and floating icebergs create a mesmerizing landscape. Watch for reindeer, musk oxen, and Arctic birds, and explore by Zodiac, kayak, or on foot.

Ittoqqortoormiit: Greenland's most remote town, inhabited by 450 Inuit residents, preserves a traditional Arctic lifestyle. This northernmost settlement features a church, a gift shop, and a Greenland sled dog breeding station.

Scoresbysund: The world's largest fjord, a prime hunting spot for local Inuit, features colossal glaciers and hundreds of icebergs. In summer, the tundra thrives with moss, lichen, and dwarf shrubs, drawing Arctic wildlife like foxes, reindeer, and musk-oxen.

Day 13 At Sea
When you sail through the Denmark Strait, our expedition team will be on the lookout for whales and various types of seabirds. It is a time to settle down, take in a presentation by our onboard experts, chat with your adventure fellows, share your photos on social medias or sip an icy cocktail in the bar—there are many activities during your time at sea. Also, our Expedition Team will also be on hand to answer any question.

* The daily itinerary will be subject to adjustment upon Captain and expedition leader's decision based on weather, sea and ice conditions, and animal locations,  always taking safety of the vessel and best interests of all guests as our top priority,  destined to provide our guests with the best possible exploration experience.

Day 14 Isafjordur, Iceland
Ísafjörður, which means "Ice Fjord" in Icelandic, is a place of wonder. Its surrounding waters teem with small fish and krill, making it a feast for whales. This lively marine ecosystem attracts a variety of whale species, especially during summer. You'll have the chance to witness humpback whales, blue whales, and fin whales as they roll, leap, and lift their majestic tails high into the air.

Day 15 Stykkisholmur, Iceland
Stykkishólmur, the largest town on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, is the perfect starting point to explore this enchanting region. Renowned as the "microcosm of Iceland," the Snæfellsnes Peninsula is a celebrated national park, famous for its diverse landscapes and breath taking natural beauty

Embark on a journey across the island, where black sand beaches framed by towering cliffs unveil their unparalleled allure. And don't miss Kirkjufell, a photographer's dream come true with its striking conical silhouette piercing the sky.
