2 June 2026 departure
Day 1: Arrive in Reykjavík, Iceland
Today you’ll arrive in Reykjavík. You will be greeted at Keflavik Airport and taken by group transfer to your hotel to rest up before the adventure begins. If you’re ready to start exploring, head out to discover the Icelandic capital, where colourful houses and charming streets sit against a backdrop of snowy mountains. You'll spend a night in a hotel here before your cruise begins.
Day 2: Embark at Reykjavík, Iceland
Spend the morning exploring in the Icelandic capital before transferring to the pier to board your expedition vessel. Step onboard and say hello to the friendly expedition team and crew, then settle into your cosy cabin and relax. You’ll soon be setting sail on the journey of a lifetime!
Day 3: Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland
Your first destination is the Vestmannaeyjar archipelago, famous for its volcanic landscapes, puffin colonies and Viking heritage. You can hike up Eldfell Volcano, visit the Eldheimar Museum to learn about the dramatic 1973 eruption and walk through preserved neighbourhoods once buried by lava. In summer, wild lupines bloom across the island, creating a paradise for birdwatchers.
Day 4: At Sea (Denmark Strait)
Spend a full day at sea as the ship crosses the Denmark Strait. Spend your time at leisure, enjoying the ship’s facilities and gazing out across the waves as they twinkle beneath the never-setting midnight sun. Expert lectures and presentations by the expedition team will prepare you for the wonders of Greenland’s geography, wildlife and culture as the ship makes its way through the northern waters.
Day 5 - 6: Prince Christian Sound
Today you’ll be cruising along the stunning Prince Christian Sound, a dramatic waterway surrounded by glaciers and snowcapped peaks. Glide through the deep blue waters between icebergs of every shape and size, calved from the ice sheet with the rising spring and summer temperatures. Weather permitting, your voyage will continue into Tasermiut Fjord, often called the ‘Patagonia of the Arctic’; here, it may be possible to make a landing.
Day 7: Hvalsey and Qaqortoq
The morning’s adventure is a visit to Hvalsey, home to the UNESCO-listed ruins of a 14th-century church that stands as an important symbol of Viking presence in the area amid a landscape of meadows and serene fjords. In the afternoon you will arrive at Qaqortoq, the largest town in South Greenland. The picturesque town is full of outdoor stone sculptures by local artists and colourful houses tumbling down the gentle hills to a sheltered bay, a perfect image of Arctic charm.
Day 8: Paamiut
If seeing an eagle is on your bucket-list, the next stop is your best chance. Colourful little Paamiut is a cute town on the southwest coast, noted for its abundant wildlife, and it’s the best place in Greenland to spot white-tailed eagles. Brightly-hued houses hold memories from the times of whaling and the fur trade, while scenic trails lead to remote and untouched landscapes.
Day 9: Sisimiut
Today you’ll wake up above the Arctic Circle. Sisimiut, Greenland’s second-largest town, sits at a latitude of around 66° North. Known for its historic blue church and an open-air museum featuring reconstructed Inuit turf houses, this remote town offers you your first glimpse of life amid this rugged landscape. Explore lively streets, hike into the surrounding mountains and enjoy sweeping views of majestic peaks and rocky ridges.
Day 10: Ilulissat
Today’s wonder is Ilulissat, the so-called ‘Birthplace of Icebergs’. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the nearby icefjord produces massive icebergs year-round and is a true must-see destination. Wander wooden boardwalks to hilltop viewpoints, where a captivating panorama stretches out before you as these frozen giants float in an icy ocean. Many call this the kingdom of icebergs, and it’s easy to see why.
Day 11: Disko Island
Venture into the volcanic landscapes of Disko Bay, where Ilulissat Icefjord delivers monumental ice blocks into the sea to tower hundreds of metres above the waterline. You’ll hop into a small boat and cruise the intricate waterways in the hopes of spotting some whales, who come here to rest in summer. You can also hike across black-sand beaches and basalt mountains, enjoying sweeping views of the high plateaus and fjords and discovering traces of Inuit heritage.
Day 12: Eternity Fjord
Prepare to be dazzled as you cruise into Eternity Fjord, one of Greenland’s most breathtaking sights. Shaped by millennia of glacial erosion, this striking scene juxtaposes deep waterways and daunting peaks, rocky slopes rising out of the water beside you. The fjord is fed by smaller glaciers that release enchanting ice sculptures into the water; occasionally, a thunderous crack of calving ice echoes across the valley and splits the peaceful silence. This is a great spot to keep your eyes peeled for birds and other Arctic wildlife.
Day 13: Disembark at Nuuk
This morning, your majestic ship arrives in Nuuk, the vibrant and colourful capital of Greenland. After a final breakfast on board, say farewell to the team and disembark. You’ll be transferred to the airport for your charter flight, which will carry you back across the North Atlantic to Reykjavík, where you’ll spend one more night in a hotel.
Day 14: Home from Reykjavík, Iceland
Wake up in Reykjavík and spend any time before your flight enjoying the city and picking up last-minute souvenirs, then make your own way to the airport for your flight home.
