Anda is best known for its white sand beaches, but its easternmost tip holds a deeper secret, Lamanok Island, often called “Bohol’s cradle of civilization.” This mystical island features towering limestone cliffs, untouched forests, hidden waterfalls, and ancient caves once used as burial sites.
Funeral boats, earthenware jars, and centuries-old graffiti still remain, surrounded by balete trees believed to hold spiritual energy. Fossilized giant clams and eerie stalactite formations add to the island’s aura. Long considered sacred by local shamans and priests, Lamanok continues to be shrouded in legend and reverence.
