What is the unique Elephant park experience?

The Elephant Hills Elephant Experience is a unique concept which was implemented in 2010. It eliminates unnatural elephant tourist activities such as elephant riding. As opposed to riding, they offer a much more interactive and respectful option to encounter these phenomenal creatures. This interactive experience allows you to watch them enjoy an extensive bath in their big elephant mud pool, in which then you will use coconut fibers to scrub these gentle giants clean again, before preparing and feeding them one of their daily meals. After the experience, the elephants are released back into their large free roaming pen, where guests can watch them play, interact and graze in their natural environment.

Along with this once in a lifetime activity, you also have the option to marvel at breath-taking landscapes while lazily being paddled down a river in a canoe, explore mysterious mangrove swamps and legendary jungle lakes full of limestone formations, visit local markets, discover primary rainforest on foot and much more.

What makes Elephant Hills Ethical?

In 2016 the National Geographic declared Elephant Hills as the only finalist from Asia in their World Legacy Awards for Sustainable Tourism, taking into account not only their animal welfare standards but also their interaction and influence on the Khao Sok’s national park around us. Elephant Hills is also one of the only chain-free elephant parks on this planet.

Elephant Hills is based in one of the world’s oldest rainforest areas and are surrounded by the lush evergreen forests of Khao Sok National Park. Therefore, its nature and its well-being are very important to them and their visitors. In order to reduce plastic waste, they have stopped handing out and selling plastic water bottles on all their tours. Instead, the guests receive reusable stainless-steel bottles upon check-in, and can use them throughout their stay.
