Pick-up from your hotel and transfer to Samui Elephant Sanctuary. You will be welcomed by experienced and passionate staff. Start with an introduction video to explain the objectives of the sanctuary and learn more about the reasons why elephants in Thailand need to be protected. Prepare food for the elephants with our own hands, followed by a meet and feed the elephants. This up close encounter is a magical experience and the elephants love their basket of treats. Walk with the elephants, stand back and observe as they express natural behavior such as foraging for food, bathing in the pool and playing in the mud pit. While the elephants enjoy themselves and roam free in the sanctuary, it is a great moment to observe their social interaction with one another. Watching the elephants just being elephants and playing in the swimming pool, cuddle up with each other to affectionately link trunks, and relish in the freedom and nurturing care that they have at the sanctuary. Enjoy a delicious vegetarian Thai buffet with time to sit back and relax. After the unforgettable experience it is time for the transfer back to hotel.
The concept of care for elephants at Samui Elephant Sanctuary is supported and inspired by Miss Lek Chailert, a world renowned elephant conservationist and the Founder of Save Elephant Foundation and World Famous Elephant Nature Park. The purpose of this sanctuary is to allow the elephants the freedom to live their lives in natural surroundings.
Morning itinerary:
08.00am: Pick-up from hotel.
09.00am: Prepare food for the elephant herd. After food preparation it is feeding time.
10.30am: Observe and walk with the elephants in the sanctuary
11.20am: Watch the elephants as they forage for food, bath in the pool and mud pit.
12.20am: Enjoy a delicious vegetarian buffet lunch.
13.00am: Transfer back to the hotel.
