Water, Wildlife and World-Class Leisure. If you love the water, there’s no better place to start your adventure than in The Palm Beaches, Florida. Bordered by 47 miles of pristine Atlantic Ocean coastline, the Loxahatchee River – one of only two Wild and Sceneic designated rivers in The Sunshine State, and two ocean inlets in its northern region, this aquatic playground combines fast-paced fun on the water with refined relaxation. Below, discover more about the Northern region of The Palm Beaches and what awaits during your next Florida adventure.
Jupiter - This slice of paradise offers unspoiled beaches, abundant green space and some of the best surfing, swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding available in The Sunshine State. Enjoy sweeping ocean views from atop the 105 feet high Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and explore the beauty of native Florida by land or by river at Riverbend Park. Sports fans can watch Spring Training baseball at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium and venture to one of the serene sun-soaked public golf courses including Abacoa Golf Club or Jupiter Dunes Golf Club. Post or pre-activity, enjoy a meal at The Woods Jupiter, Tiger Woods’ very own restaurant (if you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of him as he occasionally frequents his namesake establishment) or 1000 North – another celebrity sighting hot spot. Both perfect for relaxing your swing muscles and enjoying a sunset over the water.
Juno Beach – Is home to an unspoiled coastline, blissfully laid-back vibes, and some of The Palm Beaches’ most beloved residents (that would be the scores of nestling sea turtles, one of the densest Loggerhead sea turtle nesting grounds in the world.) Visit some of these endangered reptiles at the nearby and recently expanded Loggerhead Marinelife Centre, a working sea turtle hospital and learning facility that also hosts turtle walks on the beach. Enjoy a hike or paddle through the maritime hammock and mangrove swamps at Juno Dunes Natural Area, a 569-acre preserve that features the highest natural point in The Palm Beaches. Afterward, pop by one of the health-oriented cafes, juice bars and coffee shops to refuel for continued adventures.
Riviera Beach -This area makes a great jumping-off point for aquatic adventures of every kind, from scuba diving to snorkelling to manatee-spotting. If it’s angling you’re after, the many fishing charters and boat rentals based here will get you to the Gulf Stream faster than you can say “Sailfish Alley” (though marlin, wahoo, tuna, grouper and many more species also inhabit these legendary fishing grounds). Nearby, Manatee Lagoon gives families an educational experience and during the winter season up-close look at Florida’s state marine mammal. Divers and snorkelers from around the world flock to the Blue Heron Bridge’s Phil Foster Park and its Underwater Snorkel Trail to explore thriving reefs, historic wrecks, sunken sculptures and diverse marine life. Sea turtles and tropical fish are common sights here due to its crystal-clear Intracoastal Waterway waters. Fun fact: this site has been named the best dive site in the world.
Singer Island – With its pristine beaches, Singer Island is a long-time hideaway of the rich and famous. Just across Lake Worth Lagoon, Singer Island has been perfecting the art of leisure for over a century. Named for Singer Sewing Machines heir Paris Singer, the island boasts a handful of waterfront hotels and seven miles of beaches, from the golden sands of Singer Island Municipal Beach to the rambling boardwalks of Ocean Reef Park.
Palm Beach Gardens - If The Palm Beaches are Florida’s Golf CapitalⓇ, then Palm Beach Gardens is the jewel in the crown. This is, after all, the home of the PGA National Resort and the PGA (Professional Golf Association)’s Honda Classic.. Just inland from the coast (but still close enough to smell the ocean air), Palm Beach Gardens invites you to walk in the footsteps of legends on some of the best courses in the game. Shop like a pro in Palm Beach Gardens, with a retail scene that rivals the golf. The Gardens Mall has high-end department stores and runway-ready designer labels, while the open-air Downtown at the Gardens offers more than 50 boutiques, restaurants, and a movie theatre. Still more retail therapy awaits at Legacy Place, PGA Commons and Mainstreet at Midtown.
