Southern Palm Beach County

Southern Palm Beach County

Luxury, Leisure, and Artful Living. If culture, shopping, and beachfront leisure are high on your list, then you’ll find plenty to love in The Palm Beaches’ southern cities. With its proximity to West Palm Beach airport and the transportation hubs of Fort Lauderdale and Miami, getting to South Palm Beach County is a breeze. (The only hard part is going home.)

Boca Raton is the southernmost city in The Palm Beaches where you’ll be treated to a dazzling collection of beaches, waterfront golf courses, and upscale resort hotels. Discover a one-of-a-kind balance of natural beauty and cultural attractions, exciting events, and slow-paced, sun-kissed leisure. Relaxation should be at the top of every itinerary in Boca Raton (“Boca” for short).

Soak up Old World elegance at The Boca Raton, a sprawling, iconic resort where you can spend your days lounging in the shade of a beach umbrella, recharging at a world-class spa, and dining on some of the finest cuisine in South Florida.
If it is retail therapy you require, Boca Raton Town Centre offers high-end department stores where big-name brands are the specialty, while downtown and Mizner Park offer a variety of designer labels and local boutiques.
For art lovers check out the Boca Raton Museum of Art at Mizner Park and the breezy Mizner Park Amphitheatre, which is the backdrop for many of Boca’s best concerts and events. Nature lovers can take a walk on Boca’s wild side at Gumbo Limbo Nature Centre, where you’ll learn about local marine life and even pay a visit to rehabilitating sea turtles.
Boca is also a golf paradise. Red Reef Park, an executive course perched between the Intracoastal Waterway and the ocean, offers sweeping views from every hole. Alternatively, play with the pros at one of the outstanding championship courses in cities near Boca Raton.

Delray Beach is a place that proudly puts its rich history on display. The Spady Cultural Heritage Museum preserves and showcases the heritage and innumerable contributions of African Americans in Palm Beach County. And you’ll find much more than a moment of zen at Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens; founded as a farming colony by Japanese émigrés more than 100 years ago, the museum features six lush gardens inspired by famous gardens of Japan – perfect for a relaxing afternoon stroll.

In Downtown Delray Beach, explore a funkier, artsier side of The Palm Beaches. Stroll Atlantic Avenue for eclectic bars, cafes, and shops, stopping only when you reach the ocean. It’s easy to see why Delray Beach was once named “Most Fun Small Town in the USA” by Rand McNally and USA Today. Delray Beach is famous for its lively main street, inviting beach weather, thriving arts scene, and interesting culture that stretches back centuries.
Arts and culture thrive in Delray Beach, with two inspiring districts to explore. Just off Atlantic Avenue, Pineapple Grove and Old School Square are great places to meet local artisans and sample tasty world cuisine. Pineapple Grove colourfully blends galleries, murals, and public art alongside bistros and wine bars. At Old School Square, you can catch anything from art auctions to cabaret performances by Broadway stars.

In Boynton Beach, experience Old Florida charm, where cosy restaurants and boutiques line walkable Ocean Avenue and canopy-covered walkways lead to warm sea breezes and a wide stretch of sand at Oceanfront Park. (Don’t miss the giant blue sea turtle sculpture and life-size chess board near the concession stand.)
From Boynton Beach Harbour Marina, you’ll have access to amazing reefs and water sports for the whole family – from speed boat charters to leisurely stand-up paddleboarding. Looking for a moment of zen? Soak up the natural splendour of the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, where birdwatchers will spy all sorts of wading and migratory species.
Ready to get out on the water? Beaches like Oceanfront Park are some of the prettiest in the area, with access to coral and artificial reefs. Jaycee Park hugs the Intracoastal Waterway with easy access for canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards. (Keep an eye out for the chance to spot manatees, who frequent the mangrove areas here.) Or stop by Gulfstream Park, which extends from the ocean to the Intracoastal Waterway. Enjoy a shaded picnic area, playground, and a few nice areas where you can take a nap or read a book.

Breeze filled days and elegant nights await you in The Palm Beaches.
