New York is one of the most visited cities in the world. One of the areas they lived was Manahatta, which is the island we now know as Manhattan. The area of New York switched hands over the years through peaceful agreements or conquests from Native Americans, Dutch, British and Americans. By the time the 19th and 20th centuries came around, New York City was beginning to look like the city we know today, with its towering skyscrapers, busy port, and thriving economic centres.

New York City is now a diverse global city with a population of around 8 million people. It is fondly nickname “The City That Never Sleeps”, which is a testament to vast array of things to do and places to find in this beautiful concrete jungle. The city is host to many of the worlds most famous made-made landmarks, from the Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Bridge to the Empire State Building and iconic places like Times Square.
